My abstract tile is a 5x5 clay slab. It has decent size to fit a few different types of coils. I wanted to take up as much space as possible on my tile to make it as interesting as possible. It has different geometric and organic elements. It has a few different spirals of different sizes next to different coil designs such as bridges and squiggles. It also has a big circle (donut coil) and a spiral that also has a big right triangle like coil. It serves as an outside to the smaller shapes. I attempted to make a little bridge connected over the circle and spiral but it collapsed and failed. I tried to go as abstract as possible so I just made random coil designs such as the big triangle looking one. When I finished this I saw it as a big outside coil with smaller coils inside of it representing protection of some sort, with little other elements outside of it. What I think was successful about this abstract tile was the spiral coils, it gives the tile a wavy aspect. I like this tile the most out of the three clay sculptures because it is abstract, I could do anything random and it was the goal of the project.
